In Other Words #2
With the launch of their second festival, In Other Words bring out a second anthology featuring a collection of Cambridge poets, storytellers and photographers.
The festival it accompanies showcases the work of the not yet established, the disestablished, and those who otherwise don’t have a sufficient platform in performance and the arts. Enshrined at the heart of the festival, In Other Words elects a Bard for Cambridge for a year and a day – an individual whose purpose is to focus and channel the people’s voices upwards, and speak truth to power.
This ethic is reflected throughout the anthology. In Other Words #2 features work curated around ‘Bridging Differences’ – focusing on community, friendship and creativity – themes which are all the more relevant following a turbulent year internationally. Featured writers include Bella Basura, Catherine Howes, Charlie Finn, Clare Crossman, Fay Roberts, J.S.Watts, Katya Lubarr, Marion Leeper, Mark McGivern, Nathan Smith, Owain Southren, Rebecca Sherwood, Robin Lamboll, Sarah Walker, Simone Chalkley, Stewart Carswell, Thomas Bailey, and Wesley Freeman-Smith. It also features photography Fay Roberts, J.S.Watts, and Nikki Marrone.
The launch, happening as part of Allographic Open Mic, takes place on 28th May 2017, 7pm at CUC Wine Bar in Cambridge, starting 7pm. You can order a copy of the book here.
