Music | Sound Art
Theresa is a German-born composer, vocalist and sound artist currently based in Leipzig, Germany, after spending her formative years in London, Brighton and Cambridge. Her interests lie at the crossroads of popular and avant-garde music, and art that attempts to blur the boundaries between artist and audience, and life and art itself – taking inspiration from the Happenings of the 1960s, interactive musical composition, and pervasive gaming.
She has toured the UK and Europe as the front person of alternative pop band MOUTH – their debut album Núna was released in 2015 – and as a performer in the interactive theatre project Quicklime. For her interactive music theatre piece I’ll Sing You a Song, My Lips Won’t Move, she received the School of Media, Film and Music prize for the Best Practical Project at MA Level, and the prize for the best work on a theme related to Roger Silverstone’s work. She graduated Sussex University with an MA Music and Sonic Media in 2016.
Theresa works as producer for bands and artists from an ecstatic variety of musical backgrounds – from neoclassical to no wave – and continues her career as sound artist and band leader.
